Patsy Kitcher Walton BACKGROUND Abstract Impressionist artist Patsy Walton was born and reared as a fourth generation Texan in the small east Texas town of Grapeland. After high school and graduating from Baylor University, Patsy and Ralph, a recent law graduate found their way to soon-to-be historic Granbury, Texas. Here they discovered a perfect place to raise their two daughters and enjoy a quickly growing community that still had small-town charm and soon became a magnet to artists and young professionals. After a short career teaching and a successful stint as an interior designer, Patsy was able to pursue her lifelong passion through the local art association, workshops taken with many select artists and hours of individual study. Her work is prospering as a result.
MEDIUM AND TECHNIQUE In order to discover what her passion and unique style is, Patsy has continually experimented over the years. The result is a highly colorful and bold style - best described as “ the marriage of abstraction and impressionism”. Her creative juices and curiosity have taken her into many directions, from wire art, sculpture, jewelry, interior design, home design, and painting in several mediums -Oils, Watercolors, Acrylics, and Mixed Media. INSPIRATION As a young child living on a farm, Patsy became inspired by God’s magnificent creation seen all around her in the deep east Texas woods - the beautiful trees, creeks, and her father’s farm animals. There was where the creative journey began and has never ceased. That beginning along with her travels and study of great artists have fueled a fire that will not be easily quenched. The journey is never-ending, and Patsy only hopes that she can inspire a deep appreciation of the beauty she sees everywhere in those who view her art. A smile on their faces would be icing on the cake.
